Today's blooms

Been out trying to deadhead everywhere! If I don't get it done I won't have much for the fall flush. OMG the weeds still... and frickin' squirrel-planted walnut and oak trees everywhere!! What a mess. But right now it's just the deadheading... must stay focused....

BELAMI - wasn't sure this was right due to the deeper coloring, but there's another bud just showing color and it's real deep pink too. Must be the impending autumn weather. Even tho it's pretty hot, I can feel it in the air!

BLUE SUEDE SHOES - I am just loving this rose. Almost never out of bloom! And the range of hues of the purples is amazing. Right now it doesn't have the deeper edge.

CHANDOS BEAUTY - unfortunately is a thrips magnet, but it's such a happy plant since it got put in the ground over the new leach field. Also unfortunate is how many weeds have shown up in these new beds.... augghhhh!

EYES ON ME - being shy

FRANCIS MEILLAND - also very happy to be planted in that same bed as CHANDOS BEAUTY!

KOPPIES - making a nice recovery from almost dying earlier in the season...

LOVE'S PROMISE - can't ever seem to get the real color on this one. It's much darker in person, bordering on a blackish-red

MILLENNIUM - only blooms about that often LOL

ORIGAMI - surrounded by weeds..

OSIANA - also surrounded by weeds. That's the dreaded vetch all dried up to the left! Haven't had time to clean it out yet!

    and...

PEACE -yet another mismarked rone. Was supposed to be CHICAGO PEACE. I don't think I will ever be able to get the real CP in those cheap bagged bareroots, but I'm just so tight I don't wanna spend $18-25 for a common rose. Oh well, will try again this winter... LOL

PINK PROMISE - she's in that same bed with CHANDOS BEAUTY & FRANCIS MEILLAND. They all love their new home!

SNUFFY - like the color, but it seems to have so few petals.. blows fast!

    SOUTH AFRICA - always lovely

STRAWBERRY SWIRL mini - cute one but really tiny! It's almost a micro-mini.

TABRIS - been showing this one alot. It's happy in that bed too!

WALKING ON SUNSHINE - figures, just when I post how disease resistant it is, it gets some weird-looking crap on the leaves. May be from the heat tho...

WINTER SUNSET - talk about one that blows! And fades!! Love it anyway tho cuz that early stage bloom is drop-dead gorgeous! See below!

This was yesterday morning about 8:00. It blew wide open open by 10:00, then faded to the above cream today.

Wow!! Do you have any pictures of BSS with the darker coloring??!! I thought it was a stunner, then when you said it had a darker color to it - I went wow!!!!

I also like your Love's Promise and the New Millenium. Lovely reds - and they're even darker? Wow!! I know I just can't photograph the darker reds and the purply reds like Dark Desire. The pictures just can't compare.

    Drool!!

Great roses Beth. Its amazing how well some roses perform once they get their new homes in the ground. I don't see how y'all grow them in pots because I stink at it. I know all about the weeds. I have more weeds than roses. Very frustrating. Lovely roses. Judy

Love your roses and comments about them, mostly the one about MILLENNIUM.

Gorgeous! Glad to hear that you feel fall in the air. It was 107 here today. Been hotter than blazes for the past couple of weeks.

    Beautiful blooms. Thanks Beth.

I can feel the fall is coming too so I thought I could skip watering the pots one day because I was busy. My mistake. Some of the potted roses wilted the next day because it was hot at noon time.

My Blue Suede Shoes just started a flush and I can't wait to see it covered in blooms. I transplanted it from a 10" pot to a 21" pot three weeks ago and it must really like its new home.
