In the first couple of pics. It looks like you kept raising the elevation of the plant. So were there roots still in the ground at that point and if so how much?

marica the roots under the soil is all feeder roots, so that they can still drink and feed.

The wire is very tight around them and is surely going to leave indentations. Will that grow out given time or is it an intentional feature that you are trying to achieve along with the cascade effect? It seems to be getting rather deep into the tissue of some of them.

The growth rate that you get on your plants is however something I would like to achieve, but sadly the UK climate has it's limitations.

Whilst I have admired pics of previous plants you have shown on the forum, I'm afraid this style does nothing whatsoever for me.....admittedly, along with some of the very contrived ones as seen on the Internet. Wiring bonsai trees to emulate a more mature tree is fine on my book as is showing off an attractive root structure, even the manipulated ones in that style, but these I don't personally crave. I find that the cascading effect in a plant that is continually striving to revert to it's own natural growth pattern totally unbalances everything. Just my own opinion.
