For the drawer pulls, I like them as centered as possible. For the doors it's usually in the lower corner, the one that opens of course. Don't put the door handles in the middle of the door, that's a very dated look. And horrible.

For us function is more important than form. When you think about door handle placement, you want the handle at a place where they are comfortable to reach, and provide the greatest amount of physical advantage or leverage when opening the door.

The farther away the knob is from the hinge, the less effort you need to open the door.
