I don't know, but the forecast for mid-December is EVEN warmer.

For Sunday, December 13, they say... 62' F.

    Something's not good...

It is El Nino, it is keeping the Jet Stream high and locking out the polar air.

I am fine with Winter not coming until January! I do hope we get a little bit of major winter though, to kill all the overwintering bad stuff.

The supposed warm air sure feels pretty frigid right now.

    READ ALL ABOUT IT !
We are having some thunder storms, at this moment . I cannot remember that last time this happening. It only happens in late fall.

I left my seedlings out in the rain and now they have blights. :(

    Yes
Peter, most likely El Nino is responsible for this crazy weather.

    Regardless,
I don’t think this temperature is a good sign.

    Something,
    sometimes, somewhere WILL happen !

    Sey, as
the song says: "It ALWAYS rains in... Washington State."

Ooops, the song was about California and “Never.”
    Well…

    Maxjohnson,
how long did it rain ? Can we
    see some pictures ?

    Meantime,
the weather in my neck of the woods, is simply incredible.

    But…

    Lady,
    remember ? December… Snow… Pleez…

For Sunday, December 13, the forecast says.. 66' F !!!

    Are you kidding me ?

    Some records might break.

Wish I had a greenhouse with some plants in it. Only about 2 nights that have been well below freezing so far. Not very many that have been around freezing even. 70 yesterday and close to that today. Supposed to be a repeat next week for X-mas. This weather has me itching to start some seeds. :)

edit: Oh, and I just got finished mowing the yard! Latest ever I believe.

Things will change soon--expected one storm after another here and it will all come your way---- brrrr

The East has been having the best fall weather, all the way to winter, so far. The West on the other hand is getting the shaft (lol)

Back in our neck of the woods, (PNW) things are steady and seasonal, with no surprises. The current condition should continue till March, when daffodils pop up, announcing the arrival of spring.

It's been an awful fall/winter for the Zonies. +105 until mid-October, then 40s since the beginning of November. I still have no ripe tomatoes from the fall season because my garden is basically the same temperature as the fridge for most of the day.

Why New York is a wet and warm wonderland this Christmas

Unseasonable Greetings in a New York Searching for Jack Frost

    > In New York City, it is shaping up to be the most
abnormally warm month ever recorded, by a lot.

    > The city is said to be heading for a soggy, record-shattering
    high of 73
    degrees on Christmas Eve
    .

    > “I
    know about global warming, and
I’m scared, but I’m going to enjoy life to the fullest until it’s done.”

    > “Maybe it’s the kind of wonderful thing where the lamb
lies down with the lion, but maybe it is the end of the world.”

NYC temperatures soar, shattering previous records on balmy Christmas Eve; Highs nearly reach same temperature as July 4

    > Just after midnight, the city shattered the record high of 63 degrees set in 1996, meteorologists said.
    > The mercury climbed to 72 in Central Park, just three degrees below the high temperature recorded on the Fourth of July.

Cold soon is coming your way, Daniel.

A big high pressure is to the Northwest of you.

Another Record-Breaker! Warmest Christmas Day Ever for New York City

    > Christmas Day saw record-breaking temperatures for the
tri-state area, as the mercury crept to a balmy 66 degrees shortly after
midnight Friday, eclipsing the 33-year-old record by two degrees.

    > Revelers flocked to the Rockefeller Center
tree as the sun rose Friday, donning nothing more than light jackets, if any.
It was the second day of record-breaking temperatures; the mercury hit 72 on
Christmas Eve, shattering the previous record of 63 degrees set in 1996.

Rain, rain, rain, 6 inches in 4 days. Is supposed to clear up a little now. At least it is warmer than normal and I had lettuce growing up until the rain damaged a lot of it.

Now it's more North vs. South.

    I said so !!!

Still the HI pressure is on North and West of you, in NY. The Indian summer is over . hehe

Our temps are locked @ 35 to 39F til New Years Eve, with the sun coming out and temps shooting up to 45F. Wow !
