miz15 - For brighter colors, I might consider a deep teal or emerald green in this space. Every space is unique, so there may be many options depending on your style and furnishings. We actually used a vibrant plum color in an adjacent hallway, so the navy just seemed to work for this space.

Hi Jacki: First off, like many other comments, this is just really, really good colour application. The natural light changes the colours with every corner. Other thing, the setting is almost unbelievably close to what we have, so, great inspiration. Though we're working with light browns and a dark accent colour, darkest colour one can get in the taupe range, almost a dark charcoal. Our floor is almost identical to your picture, so things work well. Wounder if we should change the moldings to white, as in pic. Is the ceiling white ?, seems to be. What do you think about cornis moldings along the ceiling corners, say, painted white as well ? or maybe just leave it clean, as per pic.. Here's a pic of our space, the ceiling fan, swag lamp and baseboard heater are gone. I would like to see a pic of the Hallway, you mention.

The colors you're describing for your space sound great! Taupes look great with a bright white trim.

The ceiling on the project I did is white. If you're going for a more modern look, I would probably keep it clean and not do cornice moulding.

Great looking livingroom. The wall color definitely make it. Great use of the arch lamp too!
