White vinyl window in kitchen surrounded by black. Not good.

I decided to go with black cabinets & black appliances because the kitchen is open to the dining area, it's small & I wanted it to "disappear" when we're entertaining. That said, it's coming along. Yes, I still have a white microwave to remove, a new island, etc. But the more black comes into the picture, the worse the new white vinyl kitchen window glares at me. They say they're difficult to paint. I can't think of options. Anyone?

Charlotte, my kitchen is a lot like yours, and we have a white vinyl window too....what I did was cover the window with curtains, I have a tension rod between the trim that holds the curtains in place...and I also put a valance at the top...you can only see a little bit of white is all...looks great, and the curtains take your eyes away from the window! your kitchen looks nice!!

I am confused by this pic. What is the black stuff on the floor? Is this a photo-shopped picture? Is the wall black? Green? You have a white door....bigger than the window. Can you post better pics?

I see a disconnect between your wanting the kitchen to disappear visually, and also having a lot of things on display which draw the eye to the space. The room has so many things going on it's hard to know where to focus, but I keep looking at it trying to make some sense of it. If you want the space to disappear, have fewer things in view. You need more closed storage.
