Our stairs and second floor hallway are carpeted and match other carpet in the house, but the stairs come down to a hardwood floor, so the stair carpet does not touch any other carpet on the first floor. I am re carpeting the bedrooms upstairs (I do not intend to re carpet the bedrooms in the same carpet as the current hallway carpet and stairs) and I am not sure whether:
1) the hallway and stairs should match the second floor bedrooms OR
2) the hallway and stairs should match the other carpet on the first floor, even though it does not touch...any thoughts?
