Wall Mural?

I was wondering if any of you have used a large wall mural on any of your walls? We will be painting/redoing our family room this winter and saw a picture of wall art that looks really neat. I just don't know what the quality of a print enlarged enough to cover our wall would look like so are asking for your advice. We would also be interested in knowing how hard it is to put/install this on the wall. The ceiling in our room is 17 feet high (not including the skylight tunnel). We do have scaffolding.

The first picture is the wall art that we like. (http://pixersize.com/wallmurals/street-near-montmartre-in-paris-46072839)

In the second picture is the wall we would like to cover.

The next picture is just an overview of the room. I normally have tons of houseplants in this room but they are all outside for the summer. I have plants hanging that are almost ceiling to floor, some tall plants behind the sofa and just a bunch of other plants around the room and on the mantel. The wall we are considering covering is on the right.

And just another angle of the room. The wall to be covered is on the left.

Don't know if I would like such a realistic mural............maybe something more impressionistic

I like it. Think it would fit the space.

Perhaps I didn't post this in the correct place. The reason that I posted was to see if anyone has covered a large wall such as ours with a decent quality print. We especially like the picture because of the perspective. We just want to know about other people's experience with wall art - especially from the same company. Where would you recommend that I post this since I'm not really seeking "design" advice?

Not sure if this helps, since the situations are so different, but I did a full wall (8x14ish) mural of the world map in my oldest son's room when we were switching his room to make way for a baby brother. Almost 7 years later, it's still a great feature and I wish I could find something similarly timeless and interesting for the younger one's room. Obviously that's a very different context and we used a different company though (we got ours through Pottery Barn Kids although I see the same item on lots of other sites).

Be forewarned: ours was a nightmare to install, and we have nowhere near height of your room. Definitely time for a professional or very patient and savvy DIYer. Good luck!

I like the Paris print. If you don't get all the answers you seek from this forum, I bet there are plenty of tutorials online on how to install a photo mural.

@smalloldhouse_gw thank you for your comments. What kind of problems did you encounter with your install? The print can come in various materials - vinyl (paste needed), vinyl premium (paste needed) and pixerstick - self adhesive and can be moved (the other two can't). I don't know if the material would make any kind of difference.

What is the actual size? Surely bigger than 35 inches by 44 inches.

Once you get into the larger sizes the price goes up of course so we're really hesitant to order something like this without a recommendation from someone. It would stink to order it and end up with a fuzzy print.
Imhappy&Iknowit if you follow my link in the original post, there will be a resizing section where you can choose what would fit your wall. The width of the roll is determined by the type of material that it is printed on - 3 different choices.

The decorating forum is your besr bet since it's house related. Still think it's a unique idea and the perspective(looking up), is that of a tourist admiring the architecture.

Ours required paste, which wasn't such a big deal in and of itself. The issue was simply in ensuring that the map itself was level and aligning the various components of the mural so that the map was perfectly contiguous. I think there were 8 pieces total, and ensuring that every river and border lined up perfectly made a little crazy. I was pretty clueless starting this out though so my experience may not be the best guide!
