Bathroom remodel roadblock

Hello everyone. I am planning a remodel of this bathroom space and I find myself in need of some assistance with the design. I want to construct a paint scheme that utilizes the current floor, fixtures, and vanity.

The room is not large at all so I want to make it feel larger by utilizing a scheme of horizontal or vertical stripes. Color schemes I am open to are Blues, Tans, Greens, with any plan of bold accents. I will get accessories to match after the initial paint schemes has been decided. I would prefer to keep the trim and door white. Any of your ideas and inspirations will be greatly appreciated!!!

The dimensions of the room are (wall to wall) 93.5"L X 57.5"W X 96.5H.

Idea for a stripe! Not suggesting such a bold color scheme but very creative I think!.... And could be just as effective in more muted tones.

Have you committed to paint over paper as a way of adding the stripes? I see a plaster pattern on the wall. Do you plan to start with a smooth surface?

Do horizontal stripes work in such a small bathroom, KEITHA. mine is the same size.

Regrettably there is a swirl plaster texture already on the wall. I worry this may be an issue when it comes to bleed through. As for the paint over paper method I am not sure I follow what you mean.

Think horizontal stripes are unexpected and interesting. Vertical stripes would work in a small bath but I would suggest going with a smaller width for vertical stripes . An option would be use the same color for striping technique but paint one stripe in eggshell finish and the next in semi-gloss for a subtle effect. Brian, think you are right, a stripe technique could be a problem on textured walls! I recently updated a small bath and installed an accent wall of tile... Great option!

Keitha thank you for the input! I will have to try the stripes in an area I can easily cover if it bleeds through. The only problem I run into with attempting a tile accent wall is that the sink and toilet are on the same wall and I am not sure how I would decide to transition the tile without it just cutting off.

I have a similar size bathroom and I am going bold with Navy walls, brown vanity, white sink, toilet & trim with a gold mirror and gold and white stripe ceiling. Just an idea:-)

I am considering a tan and a blue, or tan and green. If the stripes dont pan out then I will alternate walls. What if I were to alternate walls, and to maximize the visual effect of depth should I put darker color on the smaller walls (I.E. the wall with the shower, and the wall with the door?)

Brian, personally, I'm liking the green option for the walls (maybe a green with gray undertones) and am concerned that if you use alternate colors that it might be overpowering. Green would compliment your existing vanity.. Not sure what kind of ceiling you have in the bathroom but a complimentary color on the ceiling would be nice.
