Venus flytrap: No light

Well recently I moved into a dorm, and unfortunately the only window I have is on the north side of the building. Im nervous my venus flytrap will die as it has been outside getting plenty of sunlight. But I've read somewhere that it can survive on some lower amounts of light if it gets enough food. I'm willing to buy or catch flies or anything. Does anyone know if this is true and I can keep it alive for a while until the dormancy period?
