Wall color same as doors and trim?

I need your advice on whether I paint my walls the same color as doors and trim? Our home has been primed already and they are ready to start with paint. I choose BM-White Dove semi-gloss for doors and trim, and eg-Shel for walls. I'm pretty confident that it'll look beautiful at the end, but wanted to hear your opinion and some other options that you might think off. I would like to stay on the whites to give that bright elegant look, and at the same time I want to give that warmth feeling but not sure if 1 color could grant me both wishes.... Btw, we will have dark wood flooring :-)

Try it - it is only paint and if you don't you will regret not seeing out your vision. Of course, you could go tonal with the whites ..an off-white above the rail - if you want to run a test to see what you like better, try ben moore's going to the chapel

It will still be white, but you would have layered whites so your trim will have contrast - that is usually the trick to a really sophisticated all white room .. several shades of white.

But really, just the different finishes will actually produce a smidgen of difference in how the eye sees the paint .. by the time you hang art i think the all white look will produce the elegance that you sought - its just a hall. Do have a strategy for art and color there? Consider how to help that flow with the house tones. Maybe frames that echo the floor . . linen matts to unify whatever you hang .. this is clearly a formal space with wainscot and alcoves in the hall .. Main thing with the dark floor is that you have really good lighting here / since it has little / borrowed natural light. Whites are most at home in sunlight . . as you can see where the natural light spills in from the rooms.

I would paint your walls. It will actually enhance the wainscoting and when you have a hallway that long you need some way of breaking it up. Especially once the dark for goes in it will give balance. Otherwise, as we say, it will feel like a bowling alley. When you look at a paint strip, I wouldn't go any darker than the third color down on the strip.

The dark wood floor should give you that warm feeling, so I wouldn't worry about painting the walls White Dove. Plus your painter will love you, less cutting in!

Would you mind posting a pic when it's done if you do go the same color with all? I'm considering the same thing and a Houzz search didn't turn up the right stuff in way of pics. I think it will look great with your floors.

Thank you so much for your thoughts, they mean a lot now that we are about to start painting. I hope I made the right decision. I will definitely post pictures after painting is done :)

Your palette sounds beautiful! Very crisp, clean, and elegant with the light walls and dark, contrasting floors. It can be subtly stunning to vary the color of the walls from the trim, though, by layering different shades of white. B.Moore's White Dove is beautiful: it's good to keep the trim/doors the brightest of whites in your palette (otherwise they can look dingy over time). Layering whites will bring an even greater sense of sophistication to the room to make it a monochromatic (rather than monotonous!) palette.

So far your panels look awesom!! I think all white is elegant. This is an all white room I designed with BM - White Dove. The dark flooring The panels always look beautiful all white.

One more question, there's an open room down the hallway that will be our library/study room, I'm thinking maybe BM Revere Pewter? I'm new at picking up colors and would love to see an even, yet soft flow through out the house... Do you think that's a good choice of breaking through BM White Dove?

I think you want to also test manchester tan. Pewter is a great color, but if you have a light and bright but warm vibe with white dove and you want flow . . i would look to a warm neutral instead of a cool neutral.

This is how White Dove BM looks in both trim and walls :) walls are eggshell and trim semigloss
