I like the fireplace! Maybe you can accessorize the mantle to update it a bit. Do you actually use the fireplace? ( I ask only because you can do some fun things with it if you are not actually using it regularly.)

Yes we use it... What would you suggested to accessorize it? The picture needs to go away and possibly vases too or change them up... Thank yu

Smaller picture or longer mantle.

i would take away the vases and the picture,and replace it with a bigger painting,one without the passepartout,and maybe a colorfull fireguard or a more open fretwork

I like your fireplace but agree with some of the suggestions that have been posted - clear off the vases, lengthen the mantel and raise the picture.
I would try and move the cabinet to another wall as it takes away from the fireplace being the focal point.

The current painting is too blended in -definitely need some color/big bold pattern. Vases must go. A couple of candle holders. Think thinner and taller like a couple of colored glass/glass mosaic vases or candle holders for accessories on the mantle.
