Jericson, are you ballooning your arabicum to allow for a larger girth on the caudex? I know there are a number of reasons to balloon these plants I'm just wondering what you had in mind for a goal.

tj its the art of fattening the caudex, without stretching the stems, and it helps to promote side branches for the main stems, and sunlight will reach the stems and make them sturdy and there color will change from green to brown,

and it will be poor in blooms and pods when we do this, the fastest growing cultivated plants are the GB "golden Bell and PBN "Petch Ba Naa" they fatten more when there's plenty of foliage

but there many debates on trimming about the leafs, some say it will stunt the plants, plants will grow slow because no leafs means the plant cannot produce food to photosynthesize, and if leafs are cut, every time the leafs will grow small, like what bonsai masters do to make there bonsai's,

Thank you so much for all the information. I have MANY seedlings and most arabicum seedlings that I have going this year. I am going to choose a couple that look similar and are from the same parent plants and do some experimenting.
