Alabaster White for the cabinets and trim will brighten up the room, make it seem larger than it seems and highlight those beautiful counters and floors.

If that is cherry, I would not paint it.

Will the backsplash and counter top still be dark? They are nice looking cabs-how about painting the walls a nice buttercream instead?

I'm usually very gung-ho for painting but I do think that these are very pretty. Still, they match the floor very closely -- was one or the other changed recently? Anyway, I might consider a light gray to relly make the most of that fantastic backsplash design.

I'd paint them it will brighten the space and allow the wood flooring to be differentiated from the cabinets. Since the kitchen is smaller, you may consider adding lighting above the hood and beneath the cabinets. I'd even recommend placing some beneath the lip of the peninsula.
