Actually, fall is an ideal planting time. Temps cool (less transplant shock) while soils remain warm and roots are in a natural stage of elongation. These factors, combined with more frequent natural rainfall (typically - this year who knows!!) usually makes for better/faster establishment than for a similar tree planted in spring. Go for it!!

btw, frost is never an issue with any hardy woody plant.

Thanks gardengal. I'm just being a little over-cautious. I've been reading and asking questions all summer, and I finally pulled the trigger and got my first JM and want to be sure I do everything as "right" as I can.
