Not Quite Finished Vermicompost

Is it such a crime to add a bit of old cardboard or some twigs to my garden soil? There seems to be a huge need to screen the vermicompost with 1/8" hardware cloth. As long as I've taken some care to separate babies and eggs out, can't I just toss a bit of the poop into each planting hole?

In Florida, it's REALLY hard to dry the vermicompost out so it screens easily. I've improved my sandy soil with garden soil and manure and regular compost. I don't mean to be lazy, but it seems overkill to worry so much about a bit of uncomposted material.

What say you all?
