I bought a Pakistan Mulberry tree in Lowes about 6 months ago. It is about 4 feet high, It did very well in the summer and I am hoping the fall will see some growth. We even have a few Mulberries on it. I live in Cave Creek so the store in Carefree carried it.

I'm glad you found one. Pakistan? I will ask google.. I wonder where mulberry trees originated. So many of the plants we use now in the desert came from another country.. I think vitex (chaste tree) came from china..

I wonder if you are referring to me? That sounds like something I wrote. I tried to google banned mulberry trees in AZ but got all kinds of information and/or misinformation. The males seem to be the ones banned due to the massive pollen produced. The females are a menace due to fruit and bird drop causing stains. The Valley Permaculture Site has an interesting thread on this in 2013. I hope someone else is more adept with google to come up with some actual facts on who actually bans these trees.

I have three baby mulberry trees that came up voluntarily in my front and back yard and this winter I will give them to someone who wants them. We used to have two mulberry trees and their ancestors pop up now and then and I have always given them away. They grow fast and some of those babies are now huge.. joann
