Info for Acer dissectum Shinonome wanted !

Hi !

I can not fnd anything about this acer.

There is an acer palm. Shinonome, but not acer dissectum Shinonome.

The dissectum I found is mentioned in some French sites,and that is all?

    You're not finding any info because there is no such plant! There is no possible way that there would be two identical cultivar names within the same genus and species (a dissectum is just a varietal form of Acre palmatum). I am not at all sure what the couple of French sites are referring to but it is not 'Shinonome'. Shinonome is part of the Matsumurae group and is an upright form with deeply divided, seven lobed leaves that has been around since the late 1800's. It goes through a range of colorations during the season, beginning reddish bronze in spring and becoming a dull, brownish green with red overtones in summer. It can produce some orange-red second growth and a deep crimson fall color.

    It is not a laceleaf and it does not weep and is there is no dissectum variety referred to by that cultivar name in any of the reputable JM texts or websites nor is that cultivar acknowledged by any of the JM authorities.
