my basement use to be carpeted and I have replaced it with tile. the sliding door that goes outside has a wood will that formally was covered with carpet. I had planned on simply painting it, but the wood in bad condition do to staples, nails, adhesives. I can decide what to do with this has I can't just cover it with a price of wood because of the lip. I have thought about using a wide piece of some kind of moulding and then a thinner piece under it to bring it down to the tile, but I'd like some other opinions first.
