Gorgeous room. The left wall seems to be your best spot for a TV, but if you are only considering the window vs over the firepace, then over the fireplace it is. I think you cshould be looking at a full sized sofa or two - not loveseats or sectionals. Fill the rest of your grouping out with chairs - I like the one they left, too. You appear to have space for two seating groups, as an additional consideration. Congratulations on your new home.

Thank you!. My only concern with the TV on the left wall is having the backlight from the windows behind it. The spot where the photo is taken from is pretty much where the front door is

Consider floating the sofa in the center of the room facing the fireplace, flank two lounge chairs on each side of the sofa. Add a sofa table or cabinet behind the sofa.

A couple other options for you if you are leaning to placement beside the fireplace -, dependent on the size of the set: If it is smaller ( I can dream) it could be placed on an acrylic stand, or media easel to the side of the fireplace, to minimize its impact. If you place it to the side with a larger unit, do consder a hydraulic stand, so the view is kept partially available.

There are also artwork casings available, should you choose over the fireplace.

Love the room and lucky you they left that chair.

normally they recommend not having the TV over the Fireplace, heat and neck damage. Tv placement probably should be on the wall across from windows, you will need room darkening curtains, but that is neither hard nor expensive.

Regarding the furnishings, the room size allows you to have anything you want. Questions you need to answer first are, budget, style, colors you like. I also agree that the a second grouping by fireplace is nice. What do you wish to be your focal? TV or FP?
