When I sprayed from a common gallon yard sprayer I just lowered it nearer to the grass to avoid collateral damage. If the wind picks up take your finger off the trigger. I was within a foot of a rose bush, no damage. Covering with plastic will totally protect them I imagine. Just that big one seems pretty close.

Thanks, glad to hear it. Anyone else done this?

Pick a calm day. I would also spray water on the shrubs. Don't do what I did n use round up extended

Trash bags can also be used as a cover while you spray. Some people use cardboard boxes, broken open, to shield where they're currently working as well.

In the past, I've used cardboard and that worked very well for me. I see no reason why a trash bag or tarp would be any less workable.

use cardboard as a shield and tarps for the bigger stuff. try to pick calm days but a sudden gust might cause damaging overspray. have never lost a plant to it, though.
