What varieties would you grow if you were looking purely for production? This year I grew Hopi, Carolina Red, Violet's Multicolored, Old Time Pink & White, Golden Lima (I know it's not really a lima), and Black Jungle.
For field peas I grew Zipper Cream, Pinkeye Purplehull, Big Boy, Red Ripper, and Piggott's Family Heirloom. They all did really well and I found out limas and field peas do a lot better here than I expected.
I enjoyed growing all the different colors, but honestly I'm not sure they produced as much as a shelly would have in the same space. I'd like to grow fewer varieties, and focus on the ones that will give me the most payback. What would you recommend?
