Does anyone grow Iris versicolor ?

Looking for members who grow or who have grown the species Iris, Iris versicolor. Let me hear from you.

What are your experiences with growing this Iris?

Very hardy and easy to grow. Lovely dainty blue flowers. Likes a moist to wet soil, especially leading up to flowering. Mine blooms here mid June. It could probably use more sun then I give it but it blooms okay in part shade. The foliage stays nice all season.

Oh wow. Mine don't look so good. I have 3 plants. They lingered all summer long and did nothing, they didn't even grow - but they didn't die either. I live in Southern New Jersey, and have sandy soil, so have to keep things wet because the soil dries out very quickly. My Iris virginica took off and bloomed but my Iris versicolors did not. Hopefully next year they will look better and GROW ! thanks.
