I took a look at your ideabooks and saw the question you asked about what flowers were planted in a garden. The tall spiky blue plant is Russian Sage (Perovskia) the large pink daisy is Echinacea. There also may be some Nepeta planted in the front. In some of the other photos I see hydrangeas and azaleas. All of these plants can grow in Zone 8. You should go to some of the online nursery sites such as www.waysidegardens.com. They describe some of the plants you are looking at in the photos. Can you post a picture of your garden? Do you want to create some flower beds? The azaleas and hydrangeas need some shade and the Russian sage and Echinacea need sun.

I don't have any flower beds yet. The house was vacant for over two years so all the beds had to be dug up. The were full of sapplings. I have almost all shade. I will begin landscaping as soon as possible.

I suggest you go to a local nursery (not a national chain). Learn what plants are native to your area. They should need little to no additional water once they are established. The horticulturalist on staff will be able to answer all of your questions.
