If those are the two choices, I think the Saint Cecilia goes with the cherry java better and has more character.

Are there any other choices that you think would go well with the cabinets?
we are going with stainless steel appliances. There is an ajoining breakfast nook that we are thinking about a light green color for the walls.

Both of your choices are really done a lot, I would take a piece of your cabinet color to a granite center and look a slabs..look for something that is different. Personally I like "movement" in granite, but that is not for the faint of heart. Don't just limit your choices to 2. Are you only looking at small samples, or have you looked at slabs? I like the granite to make a statement if possible.
