New Stem - Chop It?

Hi everyone, I could use some advise, I live in Oregon. Zone 8B. It's almost Fall and I have a HUGE shoot that came up and don't know what to do with it. I don't want to keep it because it takes away from the shape I like but it's so beautiful and healthy. Can someone help and show me where to make cuts to grow a new plant from it? For Fall and Winter I will be forcing it into dormancy and brining it into the garage.

Cut it as low as you want, and then put the cutting/cuttings in water to root. They will soon start to form "nubbies" and soon after that roots.

Thank you! I was nervous as I don't want to cut it and then lose it if I did it wrong, it's so tall!!! Once cut and roots start to grow, I assume I just need to keep it under a grow light until early spring before I put it out in the yard?

Our climates are very different, but when I cut my brugs back in the fall, I just leave the cuttings in water until next spring when I plant them out or share them. I see no need for a grow light.
