Of course, *immediately* after I posted I found a Fearless Flyer talking about Black Mission figs. The dates seemed off - I thought we got them in August and they say July - but then I saw Amazon selling TJ's Black Mission figs, so it seems like a thing and that's probably what they are. Now that's a bad thing because this is not a good zone for Black Mission figs as I understand it. We're listed as zone 8a, but it's getting colder here, so I don't trust it. Is there a variety with a similar flavor profile that does well in a slightly colder area? Thanks for your help!

It should do fine in sacremento, on the other hand every fresh fig is quite delicous...

OK, thank you. I'm glad you've had fun. However, I dislike most figs and have a serious question for someone who knows something about fig varieties. I'll restate it so maybe it will be clear.

Is anyone aware of a fig variety with a taste profile similar to black mission that will grow in a cooler, damper climate than black mission will?
