I'm definitely removing it. I have a couple in my yard.

A pokeweed that size will have a sizeable tuber underground so merely cutting or pulling the foliage will not prevent it from growing back. You'll need to dig up the tuber or cut the stalks and paint the cut ends attached to the root with roundup.

I guess I'm going to have to try to dig the damn thing up. I don't use roundup.

Pouring boiling water on the root will kill this native plant, if unwanted.
