2 feet…..

Love this houseplan:

Its a great plan, the plan on the link was modified so the garage is 2 ft deeper.

While I like the bigger garage, the lack of symetry on the garage size is driving me crazy. I want to extend the house 2 ft to make the garage not stick out. It equates to an additional 47 SF. Now the question is where to add the 2 ft, I was thinking 1 ft in the kitchen and 1 ft in the master bedroom, I really gain anything except more kitchen cabinets, extra $$ and then the symetry. Am I crazy?

No offense, but yes, you're crazy. I would never have noticed something like that unless you pointed it out and I 'carefully' looked at the floorplans. The elevations look find to me. Not trying to be insulting, but it wouldn't be worth it to me to increase the foundation size for something like that.

Where are you planning to locate the outdoor A/C unit (or heat pump), meters, etc.?

Thanks Ichabod, you are correct, its probably silly to add SF if it really doesnt help in any areas, if the spaces were tight it would help, but the current layout seems to be ample in all areas. The OCD came out in me wanting uninterupted lines on the garage side

Oaktown, havent decided where hvac units go though I am leaning toward the opposite side.

You are looking at a 2D drawing of the floor plan and it's bothering you? Think of it in 3D. You don't look at a house in 2D. You look at it in 3D.

That would be a long way to run the A/C lines if you put it on the other side of the house... That area right next to the garage near the storage room is almost designed for the A/C.
