Seed Pod questions.

Before I went on vacation, I had found two seed pods on two different plants, when I got back, after one month, only one plant had the pod !!!! Do they fall off the plant after a certain time ? I would love to know !!!

Thanks ahead of time,

Annamaria

    Hi Annamaria!!

    Nice to see you here!!!!

Like K mentioned, lots of factors play into why they drop ..

Mother Nature really can be picky at times...

I am sorry you lost one, but I sure hope you have success on the other pod!!

    Please keep us posted!!

I'm glad, Laura you are here for US, you are a fountain of knowledge and information, WE DO NEED YOU !!!!! Did I read MPG died down? I have a few Plumerias that badly need repotting, should I wait until they have stopped producing inflos. and which is better: before dormancy or in the Spring before They wake up? Thanks for your help :-)

    HI Annamaria !!

if I were you, I would wait to repot until after the inflos bloom. Sometimes it might cause the inflos to abort .. It all depends on if you are potting up or repotting ( root pruning) . Most of us repot right at the beginning of our trees waking up in the spring.. I seem to repot in the spring/ summer when they are growing and leafing out. It's probably because I have so many that it takes time to get to them all. They don't seem to be bothered to do this in the spring and or summer. But if they are root bound and you have inflos, I would wait.. Once they bloom and you are just going up in size( potting up) and not messing with any roots then I would do it if it would help out the tree.

    Good luck!!

Thank you for your kind comment!!

The MGP forum did .. It's been a few years now. Something happened to the site. Doug still sells and has a great service and a great reputation for his healthy trees!! I love purchasing from him!!!

Laura..I thought I was supposed to remove the pod from the plant and unfortunately I opened it, needless to say I lost the chance of planting the seeds they were inside !!! Thank you again for your help :-)

    Hi Annamaria !!!

It's been really busy around here with weather and things, but I just saw your message.

Oh no... Sorry you took off the pod. It's the only way for it to mature and have viable seeds. No worries, next time you will know to leave it on and let Mother Nature ripen it.

If you want to start some seeds this winter, let me know. I have a few I can send to you. I'll also share the other you had mentioned in another thread. ;-). I can't seem to message you.. But if you are interested let me know...

    have a great evening!!!

Laura, I've just seen your comment to my second pod question, sometimes we learn by the hard way!! Thank you Laura for the seeds offer, you are so nice, what variety do you have ?

This week I've potted a grafted plumeria received from Florida Colors, I hope I didn't put it too low in the pot !!!! Thank you again,

Thank you Laura for the seeds I've received in the mail, sorry I couldn't let you know sooner. I've only been back from Sydney, Australia the past Sunday, I'm still having issues with the time change. I'll save them in the envelope of the card you sent me, I loved the picture of the beautiful, red plumeria !!! I'm looking forward to plant them in the early spring, it will be a new experiment for me. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, I really appreciate it.

    Have a Happy Holiday Season!!!

Hi Laura...just in case you like to contact me by email, this is mine: annamariav@netzero.net.

So far, some of my Plumerias survived the COLD weather, I had moved them into my south exposure living room, I'm not so sure about the ones I moved to my covered patio(north exposure). This morning I trimmed off their dead leaves, I hope I can salvage a few, I'm crossing my fingers!!!! How are yours doing?

    Happy New Year,
