Need HELP! Palms growing out of cut down tree stumps!

My son brought over some recently cut tree trunks thinking it could be used for fire wood. We recently learned that the wood was no good for fire because it was a palm. Now there are what looks like palms growing out of various places on the cut wood? Attached is a photo. Can I cut off the palm pups and plant them? What type of palm is it? Thank you for any suggestion/help.

Not a true palm. It's a yucca. You could probably plant it. Not sure if the main trunks will root though since they are so big. The shoots should though

It looked so strange growing out of a dead trunk! Now I will have to research what Yucca is LOL!

obviously trunks not dead… I have tried to kill these Yucca guatamalenses many times and there are nearly impossible to kill… every little piece you cut up and leave on the ground roots and grows into a new plant.

Yup, I can vouch for what PalmBob says...I just cut down 3 ones that were over 7 or 8 feet tall but left a ground level stump. And the next time I knew...they have sent up like 30 new shoots!
