GREY STAIN: Did you stain over the orange finish - or strip and redo? Looks great! Have similar problem in my lake house. Thank you - julia

I would like to know also. Just last night I decided to tackle my "orange wood" beams in my Park City house. I don't want to strip them; so I thought I would either try to find a water based, slightly opaque stain - or make up a chalk paint in 2 or 3 shades to paint direct on the beams (no sanding needed with chalk paint.) I was curious what you used as the finish is very close to what I am doing. I couldn't believe it when I opened this email and saw exactly what I was describing to my neighbors last night! I was also thrilled to see loved see that I was not crazy for just painting my solid wood doors, trim and base a nice light cream color :)
