Compare it to a piece that he does love. Is it the same style? Before you paint, consider the size, shape, and functionality so that you aren't trying to fix it with paint because the color may not be the problem at all. Look for photos of painted furniture and let him choose a color he does like. However, at this point, I think I would ask him to just paint it himself. :)

Too bad that he feels that way , I think that once you have it in its place and add something on the top it will look good .

Make the table feel like part of the room as is, by accessorizing it and hanging art over it, using the intended colors, which sound beautiful. See if it makes more sense to your husband then, as right now, all he can focus on is the basic table and color. Dress it up and blend it in and I would love to see another pic then, too.

The blue is intense, but it does look good. However, to please all, I'd go for a blue that's maybe 2 shades lighter. I'd then just paint the back to see if he would agree. It should look good with the oil rubbed bronze hardware. The table has a nice sized width for accessorizing.

I'd redo it in a more muted shade of grayish blue so it doesn't overwhelm the room.

Have you found a blue you want to use as your accent color? If so, match it and then go shade or two lighter for the table.

I think I'd leave it alone as others suggested. Finish the rest of the area and see if it fits in once you get accessories, pillows and other furniture placed. If hubby still dislikes it, THEN I'd re-do the blue.

I'm with hubby on this one. The main problem is that the base and the top are too close in value. It looks more purple than blue on my monitor, and I don't love the brown top with the color either. Here are some variations that may appeal more:

What about a metallic paint then different pulls altogether the ones on there seem weighty.
