How do I prepare them for the winter?

Zone 7a in Canada. Fall has begun, so I'm wondering what the best way to prepare my container roses is. They're currently out on my southern facing balcony. I'm fighting powdery mildew at the same time. Is there anything specific I should do for it to help it through this upcoming winter?

First of all you need to take care of the PM, get some Greencure or potassium bicarbonate(both are available at Amazon and some garden centers) and spray the leaves. Your south facing balcony is fine, is it covered?

I don't know how severe you winters are in zone 7 Canada. What are you lowest temperatures usually?
