I recently moved into an apartment with a lovely backyard space that includes a sectioned off gardening plot. I'd say it's about 7x6 give or take. The land has been seriously neglected over the years, and was totally overtaken by weeds (most taller than me!) when I started with it. I have almost everything cleared out now - so my question is: What are the best steps to take to prepare the soil for winter to ensure a prosperous spring?
