Anyone have Agastache 'Ava'

last modified: 10 years ago

I have Agastache 'Ava' in full sun against the front side of the house, planted in threes. The first few years the plants grew to nearly 5' and three were nearly as wide. They seemed to spread at the bottom. Beautiful, and full of every kind of bee all summer. The hummers liked them, too.

Last year a few here and there didn't come back after winter and what was left seemed a lot punier. One set had a dingy, sooty look. This year they seem even punier if that's possible. I planted several new ones, but can't get back the big, fat, full look. They have bees, but nothing like they used to., and they don't spread.

Anyone know about this plant? Are they short-lived? Subject to some kind of disease? Would water and fertilizer help or hinder?
