Hi Sarah. The shelving unit looks a bit more kitcheny to me tbh. I'd go for a single picture ledge and add art similar to pic 1. I'd also move the desk out of the corner by a foot (?) and put the clock elsewhere. I'd then have a floor anglepoise lamp with the lamp positioned over the desk similar to 2nd pic

I wouldn't get more bits as you already have them on the shelving unit. Move clock as Minnie says. Ledges look good with pic frames on, or you could get a very large map of the world (like wallpaper) on the wall or a v large framed one.
