laurieann, you're not alone. There are two other posts here from people with a lingering bird (tho further south). I have one, too. The ones that linger are usually far down on the pecking order and can't fatten up enough to leave until the others are gone.

For several years I've had one linger on well into October, til the nights were in the 30's, but they always leave. Trust nature.

Thank you very much for your response! She's still here, and although I love to see her, I do hope that she soon joins her friends down South since I know that's where she belongs. The forecast is for warmer temps this week, so I know there's no danger of the nectar freezing. But I've been researching plans for that in the event that we get a cold snap while she's still here. Again, thanks for answering. I feel better after reading what you said.

I live in Baltimore county and there is one still visiting my feeder. I am glad to hear others are still out there.
