I think I've decided that appliqué is my "thing". I just finished a crib quilt for a friend of my daughter's and it will be delivered today. DH drew a tree for me and I put a few birds in it. That was all I had planned and I just added things as I thought of them. It was so much fun to do and it is small enough that it wasn't a huge struggle to machine quilt. The last one I quilted on the machine was 75 inches by 90 inches and I ended up doing a lot of the quilting by hand because it was a real fight to pull it back and forth through the small throat of the machine.
