My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Range Hood - is it necessary if your ceiling is 11 to 12 feet high?

I notice the range in this picture does not have a hood. Is a hood necessary if your ceiling are 11 to 12 feet?

    Hi Windy, I'm pretty sure this was a Thermador gas cooktop. But this renovation was done almost 15 years ago. So the model information wouldn't be very helpful to you. I'm pretty sure you can use any cooktop with a downdraft hood system...I think you purchase them separately. My advice would be to check with a local appliance distributor, to see what is available.

      Thanks for your interest. Actually this is a down draft hood. I think a hood is recommended for all ranges/cooktops. Maybe you want to have a down draft. They don't work quite as we'll as a standard hood. But it's a good solution for island stoves.

      Did you make the columns or purchase them from a supplier? If you ordered from a supplier, who was it? They are beautiful!

      Thanks for your comment. The columns are wood, they were a stock size that the carpenter cut to fit our needs. I'm sorry, I don't remember the supplier.
