Soap and water works fine. Don't flood the floor--use a damp mop to limit the amount of water admitted to joints. Wax if you want added luster.

Try a warm water with several drops of white vinegar. Make sure that your mop is wrung almost dry. Cork does not tolerate lots of standing water.

I sent this to one of my clients who had cork floors and was wondering how she'd come around maintaining it. Hope it helps.

"Mopping" denotes very wet cleaning technique. If that is the case, then normally "no" we don't like to see cork "wet mopped". Slightly damp (wrung out...very little moisture left on the mop head) is fine.

Please stay away from soap and water. Water and vinegar is discouraged by MOST flooring producers....but can be used 1-2 per YEAR (10:1 water:vinegar ratio).

You are welcome to contact your floor's manufacturer and inquire about their cork or hardwood flooring cleaner. The type of finish on the cork and the manufacturer will dictate what types of cleaners can/should be used.

There are more than a 1/2 dozen different cork finishes out there...and each one has a specific approach.
