What climate zone or rough geographic area?

This is a french country sort of home .. you might try lavender and rosemary combos and take the color of the shutters a bit softer blue green gray . . like bm templeton gray ..

Dallas/Ft Worth area has a lot of options for landscape plants. Two ideas- check out some new model homes to see what their lavish landscaping looks like, or hire a landscape architect to design a plan that works with your budget. You may want to rework the hardscape with a wider walkway and bigger curved or straight lines for the foundation planting. You can also take long walks in the neighborhood (or use google streetview for armchair viewing) to see what professional landscapes you like. In the meantime, a bunch of pumpkins and "instant annual" fall plantings such as yellow and gold chrysanthemums could provide some fall color.
