Sorry, but there is little to no room to plant trees in a 4' wide swath between the house foundation and the relocated driveway. Even if this area is 6-8' wide after the relocation, you are still looking at a pretty narrow shrub border.

I will leave it to someone closer to your location to make plant suggestion suitable to your zone.........but it is NOT a zone 7. Take a closer look at the zonal maps - you might be in a zone 6b but that is an extremely small area - more likely a 5b or 6a.

Neither, rather a small number of species in groups, or if larger, as individuals and repeated. Roughly linear if you wish but definitely not straight and definitely not random. The repetition holds it all together and is often overlooked leading to a disparate, messy look.

Also, regardless of whether you want suggestions here or on the landscape design forum, you will want to post a photo that shows the right side of the house and property as well.

Right now there isn't enough information to know what to suggest other than to choose plants that won't grow so tall as to grow up over your windows. If you find plants that appeal to you, but are too tall, you can often find shorter versions.

Think about your goals. Do you want lots of flowers or low care or just "curb appeal" or . . . ? Since it is the front of the house, you probably want to have at least some evergreen plants and/or those with interesting winter bark or branching so that it doesn't look too stark in winter.

I'd look at landscape designer's websites, get books out of the library, and look around your neighborhood and other neighborhoods that have similar homes to yours. Start a folder of photos of plants and arrangements of plants you like. If you need them ID'd ask here or on the Name that Plant forum.

As most of the house rambles informal planting should be used, rather than geometric symmetry. (The unfortunate, matching (identical) pair planters flanking the entry, with their accompanying geometric plantings do not go with the rest of the house at all).
