Cabinet depth refrigerator

I have a small kitchen, 11x11, we are going to open LR and DR wall to have grand room. My contractor is pushing a cabinet depth refrigerator. I think they are too small. Currently have 25cuft fridge.
Is it bad to have fridge stick out the few inches,,?
The plan will be for fridge to be at end of kitchen, (at start of DR.)With the island in front of it.

It's situational, based on views from adjacent rooms and impact on traffic flow and storage needs. Often, creating deeper cabinets along that run can disguise the depth of a standard refrigerator and gives you a lot of extra storage as a bonus.
