I would like some advice regarding subway tile we've had installed in a new bathroom. The tile is a standard 3"x6" subway tile. We asked for 1/8" grout lines. The tiler used 1/8" spacers but placed them back far enough so that they rested between the nibs. If relied upon for tile spacing, the nibs would provide a 1/16" spacing. The end result is that we got 3/16" spacing where we asked for 1/8" Only the quarter round actually has 1/8" spacing because that tile doesn't have nibs.

In every other way, the tile job appears to be high quality. However, we can't help feeling like the larger grout lines give the work a dated appearance. What do you all think?
