Wow! BLACK LADY is such a gorgeous rose. How did I not know about this rose before? Beth, is it a healthy rose for you? There aren't that many comments about it on Help Me Find Roses. I like LOVE'S PROMISE too. I guess I'm drawn to red roses.

Same here Jasminerose. Black Lady and Love's Promise really stood out for me, beautiful deep reds.

As usual, gorgeous roses,Beth. For me the standouts are Black Lady, Lorise and Souvenir de Pierre Guillot. Are those three scented?

I concur with the rest of the posts - Black Lady is gorgeous but my second favourite of this bunch would be Fragrant Plum.

I have to jump on the wagon here and say Black Lady is my favorite. I have several red roses but no dark red ones and I think she is one of the prettiest I've seen.

Thanks everybody. BLACK LADY is one I got many yrs ago from Hortico. They still carry her, BTW. And Heirloom has her but not in stock at this time. For me she grows about 4 1/2ft tall and maybe 3ft wide. She repeats pretty well and doesn't have much disease that I recall. Scent is fairly strong.

LOVE'S PROMISE is a really good rose too. Smells good and this photo just doesn't show the velvety texture on the petals. It's an even better bloomer than BL.

Ozmelodye, LORISE has a very light scent sweet scent. SVR DE PIERRE GUILLOT doesn't seem to have much scent at all. It blows fast and fades to a pale pink color.
