Rhododendron poisoning in cats?

Hello,

I just bought a home in western Oregon, and I'm trying to establish a garden in the backyard. I really want to plant rhododendrons and azaleas, because they are so popular here and well suited to the climate (supposedly).

However, I have an indoor/outdoor cat who is only allowed in the backyard. Should I worry about him eating the rhododendrons and keeling over? I know he's been around then before, in neighbors' yards, but never in ours. Have any of you ever had issue with your cats eating rhodies or azaleas? Are they attractive to cats?
