Kerrie, they are just doors to make it look like another cabinet. Access to plumbing is afforded, but the doors are just hung on a 2x frame (which supports the tub and decking). In theory you could use some of the area underneath for storage, but it is primarily aesthetic. Looks good doesn't it! Thanks for the question!
