You can buy a new front for the middle drawer for $10-$20 or so. Then paint.

It would be easier to have someone make new drawer fronts to size so that they all match and then you can stain or paint it all. Drawer fronts are not over the top expensive. You can find companies that do that on line or you can go to a local wood working shop and get them.

Paint it whatever color you like and slide a basket in where the drawer used to be.
