Fireplace stone

How were the ends of the stone finished? It doesn't look like there were any corners used. Does the mortar/grout show? I've run into that issue with stone on my fireplace. Please help.

    The stone is white birch honed from Realstone.com. The ends are honed. It doesn't look like corners were used but they are available.
